The Girl Who Really Liked A Certain Trilogy.

I have been in a semi-cold turned fever induced early night bedrest and have FINALLY delved into Stieg Larssen's brilliant yet twisted Swedish trilogy series. Of course I have the books laying here on my dresser, which I have yet to read, and the Hollywood version has recently come out but wow, you all must see the original version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", "The Girl who Played with Fire" and "The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest", directed by Niel Arden Oplev. Subtitles are a must so they require your full attention you...

I Bleed Purple.

Did we all watch an impressive, uplifting 2012 State of the Union Address by President Obama? Regardless of your political agenda, it was well-written and Obama hit some amazing key points. Let's give America the boost it needs. Now, I have the pleasure of humbly bragging that I went to College of the Holy Cross with Obama's speechwriter, Jon Favreau. He was Valedictorian of his class and after working with presidential candidate John Kerry, he was recommended to Obama on his turbulent, yet successful campaign. Since then, the two...

It's Paula Deen's Birthday Y'all!

Happy 65th Birthday to Mrs. Paula Deen! Thank you for your disgustingly copious use of butter, heavy creams and other artery encrusting ingredients and for always having that wonderful hungry smile on your face in the backdrop of your own Georgia kitchen! I know your fans love watching you from their hospital beds or post-gastric bypass recovery centers and please know that we were all extremely blown away by your recent diabetes diagnosis. Who would've thought huh? What were the signs?! I'm glad you've taken your health...

::Cue The Eery Music::

Happy Friday the 13th! I'm off to Boston, a 6:45 am flight ( I don't know why I inconvenience myself so much) today to my cousin's abode in Newton. I love it there! I'm excited to get away. All the young cousins and siblings (except for my sister, shout out to Rebecca, keep the kitchen clean thanks) will be in attendance for my cousin's 40th birthday bash (er I mean 20th) in downtown Boston. As I pack I feel like I'm packing to go back to college again thanks to all the long sleeves, coats, etc. jammed in my suitcase. Anyway, I will...

Off On A Tangent Inspired By Recent Actual Events

Here's another installment! Please believe I am currently sitting in a Starbucks, wearing a maxi dress and Toms, like a complete hipster as I blog. Do not judge me for I have never done this here before. -Essie Luxeffects is a quick mood-picker-upper. -Why is it that when you DON'T want to see someone, you IMMEDIATELY see them?! Poof! -Leave the games to Parcheesi and Angry Birds. Not the dating world. -Shall we place bets on numbers of marriages/pregnancies/scandals amongst our facebook friends this year? Anyone? -Why...

The Past Has Passed.

2011 is done. Here's what I've learned: YOU come first no matter what. Screw first impressions. Who are you to judge?  Sometimes the rest of your life starts with goodbye. Get back to reading books. You know, the ones with paper in them with more than 30 pages. Don't invest in something worthless.  Stop feeling bad for others. Who is feeling bad for you? Don't glorify/dwell on the pettiness.  Hold tightly to your values, morals, and class.  Buy Just Dance 3 for Wii. DO NOT HATE. Exercise keeps you sane. You...

Resolutions Are SOO Last Year.

Resolutions blah blah blah. Same scene, same promises, same goals set each year. What do we actually follow through with? What resolutions are really achieved/remembered?? The gym will be packed tomorrow, and empty in February. Janet Jackson and Jennifer Hudson will be tired of endorsing their weight loss regimes on television and so forth. New Year's is always a swirl of emotions and sentiments for me because it's a deep introspective reflection of the past 365 days that I have endured. What have I done? What has happened? Am I where...
